Volusia County Elementary School “W” is a 78,900 square foot facility located on a 20 acre site designed. This is a prototype school that was built to accommodate the rapid growth of the student population in Volusia County.

The design consists of four separate buildings connected by aluminum covered walkways. The structure consists of load bearing masonry walls with a brick veneer together with structural steel roof framing and a standing seam metal roof.

Elements include an administration suite, multi-purpose cafeteria / dining space, media center, music and art rooms, special education suite, in support of classrooms for grades K-5. The building is also constructed to meet the Code requirements for a Public Hurricane Shelter.
