The Alachua County Health Department / Community Support Services facility was created in response to North Florida's rapidly growing population. This 74,000 square foot facility was designed to accommodate the space requirements of two distinct public entities; one a state level health department, and the other a county level community support services department.

The Health Department includes clinic space to handle 250,000 patient visits each year, with that total being escalated yearly. The new brick building also features a 150-seat auditorium, providing much needed meeting space for the community and area health professionals.

Community Support Services offices housed in the new facility include the Crisis Center, Social Services, Senior Services (Foster Grandparent Program and Retired/Senior Volunteer Programs), Partners for a Productive Community, and Veteran and Victim Services.
