The Health Science Center
provides a state-of-the art health care learning and
forms a dramatic gateway entrance to the Leesburg
campus. The center serves as a resource for all of
Lake and Sumter Counties. The 100 seat auditorium and
40 seat community room is used by area health groups
for information programs, while the 1500 square foot
fitness center, equipped with stationary exercise
equipment, is available for use by the public.
The two-story brick facility also houses classrooms,
nursing skills labs and administration and office
spaces. Other programs served include the College of
Nursing program, a community nursing center, dental
assistance program, and health information management.
This project won a 2002
Associated Buildings and Contractors Eagle Award for
Best in its Category.
